Speech Therapist
Responsibilities
• Maintain documentation in a professional and confidential manner and in accordance with company policies.
• Assessing and reporting on children’s functional abilities
• Providing evidence-based interventions individually or in groups
• Working closely with families and a multi-disciplinary team.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to Pediatric clients within the areas of speech, language, literacy and fluency.
• Liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to enhance client care.
• Provide regular written and verbal information and advice to the individual, their families and other professionals to keep them informed of your progress.
• Demonstrate core skills in assessment, intervention and management of children and adults.
• Achieve participant goals within available resources, while meeting discipline specific standards of practice.
• Assist people with disability to achieve significant outcomes that promote independence, quality and the opportunities to pursue their goals and aspirations.
• Assess clients with a wide range of acute and chronic disorders and implementing effective Occupational Therapy programs and interventions.
• Demonstrate core skills in assessment, intervention and management of children and adults.
Skills & Requirements
• Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
• 12 months previous experience as an speech therapist is preferrable though, we’re willing to consider Graduate Occupational Therapists.
• Experience completing assessments and making recommendations.
• Strong ethical mindset and willingness to learn.
• Passion for working with kids and young people with extra support needs.
• Current Drivers License
• Individual professional indemnity insurance
